Even though these are now made in a totally new factory in Thailand, these tyres are still prone to significant wheel shake, and require a lot of effort to balance correctly. In the majority of cases these are impossible to balance. The tyre rim 'protection' edge walks the weights off the rim when aired down.
In all 50+ cases of warranty imbalance we have been involved in, it has been the tyres 100% of the time. Changing to Toyo or Hankook will fix it.
This is a tyre we have sold a few of, and have had significant issue with. Tyres4U - The importer has lost the dealership and replacement warranty is no longer possible. This is not EVA's fault, so please be fair as we work through any issues.
Sales of this tyre is still possible for those that would desperately like them, and the associated headaches - however, from now on, EVA requires the customer sign and agree that EVA will not seek warranty on the customers behalf.
They are still a great 131Q option that looks great, and perfect for those that do a LOT of off-road work, and don't mind significant steering wheel wiggle, and their cheeks shaking!
These allow the full GVM to be maintained legally, on a 5500kg light truck registered, Iveco Daily 4x4.
Please note, these can only be fitted to EVAs Steel wheels, or Earthcruisers Alloy wheels to retain 1950kg Load. Other wheels will need to be sighted to ensure they are stamped at 1950kg or above.
Please note that these are a VERY heavy duty tyre, and as such, have more rubber and weigh some 8kg more than light duty 124Q tyres. This coupled with the fact they are shipped stacked on top of each other from overseas, does cause a vibration on the majority of these tyres. This can ease, but usually does not, after they have heat cycled a few times and the plys wear in / flat spots from storage do eventually come out. This can take up to 5,000 klms. That said, these will not balance perfectly - period. Do not buy these expecting they will.
Note that we cannot fit lead balance weights to these tyres. They have a poorly designed rim protector that causes the weights to fall off when the tyre is aired down. We have tried all freely available weights to no avail.
Please note that packing these loose on a pallet to ship, is the same labour as fitting/balancing. So the price will be the same either way.
These tyres are impossible to keep in stock, as Gladiator as a tyre brand is simply a shit supplier and I am tired of being unable to buy them on a consistent basis from them. Once they can sustain Australian supply, with honest container dates we will lower pricing once again. At this stage, we are often forced to pay full retail to maintain supply so our pricing reflects this.
Due to significant balance issues and yet another credit for a full set of tyres we are no longer dealing with Gladiator Period.
Gladiator tyres have caused more heartache in our business than we ever thought imaginable from a tyre. EVA no longer wish to associate with them.
